Chapter 490 Battle Of Gods
Chapter 490 Battle Of Gods
Lana exhaled slowly as the flames around her body began calming down.
The heat still distorted the air around her while pieces of burning debris continued falling from the destroyed buildings nearby. The battlefield had gone strangely quiet after that final blast. Even the remaining wolves looked stunned by what they had just witnessed.
That attack had been monstrous.
Lana rolled her shoulder once and looked up toward the mansion window where Liam stood watching her.
A small smile appeared on her lips.
She was just about to leap back up toward him when suddenly—
Her instincts exploded.
Danger.
Lana’s eyes widened instantly.
Without thinking she twisted sideways violently.
BOOOOOOM!!!
A gigantic chunk of concrete flew past her head like a missile and smashed into the mansion wall behind her hard enough to shake the entire structure.
Dust exploded everywhere.
Lana’s head snapped toward the collapsed building immediately.
Shock crossed her face.
The others turned too.
Then slowly...
A figure stood up from inside the burning wreckage.
The man in white.
Or at least what remained of the white suit.
The clothes covering his upper body had been almost completely burned away now revealing something underneath.
Armor.
Dark blood red armor.
It looked alive.
The surface pulsed slowly like veins beneath skin while strange energy flowed across it continuously. The armor wrapped tightly around his chest and arms with faint glowing patterns moving beneath the surface like flowing blood.
The pressure coming off him changed instantly.
Heavier.
Darker.
More disturbing.
Even the air around him felt wrong now.
Liam’s eyes narrowed upstairs.
His expression finally became serious.
The energy radiating from this guy was genuinely unsettling.
The vampire slowly stepped forward from the flames.
His eyes glowed completely red now.
No whites.
No pupils.
Just pure glowing crimson.
Lana straightened slowly.
For the first time since the fight began she looked cautious.
Upstairs Liam suddenly turned toward Anya.
"Stay here," he said calmly. "Don’t leave."
Anya grabbed his arm immediately.
"Are you going to fight too?"
Liam nodded once.
"Lana can’t face him alone."
Anya’s eyes immediately dropped toward his injured hand.
"But your hand..."
Liam glanced down at the bandages wrapped around his fingers.
Then calmly made a fist.
BOOM.
The bandages exploded apart instantly from the pressure.
Anya froze.
Her eyes widened completely.
An hour ago she thought his hand would need amputation.
Now it looked almost completely healed.
No swelling.
No black veins.
Nothing.
"What..."
She genuinely couldn’t process what she was seeing anymore.
Liam flexed his fingers once naturally before looking back outside.
Down below Lana’s hand ignited again with blazing fire.
The flames this time burned brighter than before.
"You want more huh?"
Her voice carried challenge now.
But the vampire didn’t respond.
His face remained completely emotionless.
Cold.
Stoic.
The red armor pulsed harder.
Then his body started vibrating slightly.
At first it was subtle.
Then faster.
And faster.
The air around him distorted strangely.
Liam’s expression changed immediately.
Fast.
The vampire vanished.
WHOOSH!
He moved like air itself.
Lana barely saw him.
One second he stood across the battlefield.
The next second he was already directly in front of her.
Lana reacted entirely on instinct.
She barely managed to raise both arms in time.
BOOOOOOM!!!
The punch landed against her guard.
The impact was horrifying.
The entire ground beneath Lana shattered instantly while a shockwave exploded outward hard enough to blow burning debris across the battlefield.
Her flames went out immediately.
Lana’s eyes widened from the force.
Then her body flew upward violently through the air completely out of control.
Anya gasped upstairs.
"Lana!"
Lana spun helplessly across the night sky.
One arm bent unnaturally.
Pain shot through her entire body from that single punch.
Then—
A blur shot upward.
Liam.
He leaped into the air with terrifying speed and caught Lana carefully before she could crash into the mansion wall.
The force still pushed both of them backward through the air before Liam twisted midair and landed smoothly on the ground while holding her securely.
Concrete cracked beneath his feet from the landing.
Lana groaned softly.
Liam immediately looked down at her arm.
Broken.
The bones near her wrist had shifted badly beneath the skin.
Even breathing looked painful for her right now.
Rage flickered briefly across Liam’s eyes.
Lana grabbed his shirt lightly with her good hand.
"That bastard..."
Blood sat at the corner of her lips now.
Liam crouched slightly and carefully placed her down against part of the broken wall behind him.
His eyes stayed fixed on the vampire standing in the distance.
The vampire remained motionless.
Watching.
Waiting.
The red armor continued pulsing slowly beneath the moonlight.
Liam looked back at Lana calmly.
"Give me a minute," he said softly.
"I’ll be back."
Then—
He disappeared.
Not ran.
Not jumped.
Disappeared.
Even Lana’s eyes widened slightly.
The ground where Liam stood exploded apart a second later from sheer force as he shot forward toward the vampire at terrifying speed.
Liam moved.
Not fast.
Terrifyingly fast.
The moment his feet pushed off the ground the concrete beneath him exploded outward in a violent shockwave, cracks tearing across the street like spiderwebs as his body vanished from sight. To everyone watching, especially Anya standing upstairs by the broken window, it looked less like movement and more like teleportation.
Even the air screamed.
The vampire narrowed his glowing red eyes slightly as Liam appeared before him instantly, his fist already flying toward his face with enough force to flatten steel.
At that speed the world itself seemed slower.
Dust hung frozen in the air.
Broken debris drifted like feathers.
Lana, still kneeling on the ground with pain flashing across her face, barely even saw Liam move.
But the vampire did.
And that alone was horrifying.
As Liam’s punch closed in, the vampire suddenly grinned.
Not nervous.
Excited.
Then his head tilted backward just enough for Liam’s fist to tear past his face instead of crushing it completely. The force behind the missed blow still created a violent pressure wave that shattered every nearby window instantly.
Boom!
Glass erupted across the mansion grounds.
Liam’s eyes widened for the first time.
He dodged it?
The realization hit him hard.
Nobody had ever reacted to him at this level before.
But there was no time to think.
The vampire’s smile widened unnaturally as his own fist came crashing forward straight into Liam’s ribs.
BOOOOM!
The impact sounded like a cannon blast.
Liam’s body folded slightly from the force before he was launched sideways through the air, smashing through the wall of a nearby building with explosive force. Concrete and metal burst outward violently as his body disappeared into the structure.
But the vampire did not stop.
He chased after him instantly.
Whoosh!
The red glow around his eyes intensified as he shot forward like a missile straight into the collapsing building.
Inside the cratered ruin Liam was just beginning to push himself up when the vampire arrived.
Boom!
A brutal fist smashed into Liam’s chest and drove him deeper into the rubble.
Boom!
Another strike slammed into his jaw hard enough to split the floor beneath him.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
The attacks came endlessly.
Relentlessly.
Every punch carried monstrous force, the kind that made the ground tremble and nearby walls collapse inward. The crater around them kept growing larger with every impact, debris flying everywhere while shockwaves rolled across the mansion grounds.
Outside, everyone watched in horror.
Anya’s entire body froze.
Her fingers gripped the edge of the shattered window so tightly her knuckles turned pale.
"Oh my God..."
She had never seen anything remotely close to this before.
Each impact sounded like buildings colliding together. Dust clouds kept erupting from the crater while the vampire continued hammering Liam with terrifying aggression.
Even the werewolves looked disturbed.
Danill, still injured and shirtless, forced himself upright while staring at the destruction.
"That thing..." he muttered hoarsely. "What the hell is he?"
Down below, Lana clenched her broken arm tightly against herself, frustration flashing across her face. She tried standing but pain immediately shot through her body again.
"Liam..." she whispered under her breath.
Inside the crater another punch came crashing downward.
But this time Liam moved.
The vampire’s fist suddenly stopped midair.
His glowing red eyes narrowed slightly.
Liam had caught it.
One hand gripping the vampire’s fist tightly.
The ground beneath Liam cracked violently from the pressure alone but he held firm now, blood dripping from the corner of his mouth while his breathing came heavier than before.
The vampire tilted his head slightly in surprise.
For the first time since the fight began, his attack had been stopped completely.
Liam slowly lifted his head.
His blue eyes locked onto the vampire’s glowing red ones.
Then—
Boom!
Liam’s leg shot upward viciously into the vampire’s stomach.
The impact sent the vampire flying backward through layers of broken concrete before crashing across the street, tearing a massive trail through the ground before finally stopping.
Silence hit briefly.
Dust floated through the air.
Then Liam slowly rose from the crater.
